About
We build the systems healthcare operators wish they had
EMBERSTONE Partners helps athenahealth practices turn their own data into quality reporting, daily AI-driven tasks and launches that go right the first time. The firm is led by Ben D. Miller.

Who you work with
Ben D. Miller, Principal
An operator and analytics leader who has built these systems inside health systems and multi-site primary care groups.
Ben on LinkedIn- Built a v1 ambulatory quality measure engine and its Tableau reporting layer, then scaled it with engineering, operations and clinical teams to HEDIS, MIPS and clinician-level reporting for 2M+ primary care patients across about 2,600 sites of care in 19 states.
- Built a first analytics data warehouse from athenahealth Data View, integrating 150+ healthcare metrics into one source of truth for operational, clinical and quality reporting.
- Architected and validated an AI prompt framework on that warehouse that turned operational data into prioritized, role-specific SMART tasks, scoped for an operations team of about 100.
- Led operational build-out and clinical readiness for 7 primary care clinics (about 45,000 patients) and 1 infusion center, and served on the integration team for a 32-clinic acquisition.
- Built an AI runtime governance harness with declared guardrails, checkpoints and human-in-the-loop escalation, self-mapped to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
What drives us
How we work
Operators first
We have run operations, managed scorecards and delivered under pressure. Our recommendations come from that, not from theory.
Build, don't advise
We deliver working assets: warehouses, measure engines, AI frameworks and scorecards. Not slide decks.
Data as infrastructure
Clean, governed data is the foundation of every AI deployment and every quality measure, so we build it first.
You own it
Everything we build lives in your accounts. When the engagement ends, nothing depends on us.
See what this looks like in practice: analytics and BI architecture, AI operations and strategic operations.
Let's talk about your practice
